P0108 Intake pressure (MAP) sensor signal too high
P0108 means: Intake pressure (MAP) sensor signal too high. The MAP sensor measures pressure in the intake. Drive gently and have the car checked soon. The repair usually costs about €40–200 in Estonia. The most common cause: sensor is dirty with soot or oil (especially on diesels).
What it means
The MAP sensor measures pressure in the intake. The engine computer uses it to work out how much fuel to inject. The sensor voltage is too high. Usually a wire is shorted or the sensor has failed.
What could be wrong
- 1Sensor is dirty with soot or oil (especially on diesels)
- 2Connector or wire
- 3Sensor hose is loose or split
- 4Sensor has failed
What you can check yourself
Check the sensor connector and hose. The sensor is on the intake manifold or the intercooler pipe. You can do the simpler checks yourself.
How we fix it
- We compare the sensor reading with atmospheric pressure
- We clean the sensor or repair the wire
- We replace the sensor
