P2074 MAP/MAF vs throttle at higher load: readings don't match
P2074 means: MAP/MAF vs throttle at higher load: readings don't match. The mass air flow (MAF) sensor measures how much air goes into the engine. Drive gently and have the car checked soon. The repair usually costs about €60–300 in Estonia. The most common cause: dirty or faulty MAF sensor.
What it means
The mass air flow (MAF) sensor measures how much air goes into the engine. The computer uses it to work out how much fuel to add.
What you may notice
- Engine light on
- Less power
- Rough idle
- The engine may stall
What could be wrong
- 1Dirty or faulty MAF sensor
- 2Air leak between the sensor and the engine
- 3Air filter clogged or badly fitted
- 4Wire or connector
Repair difficulty: Easy
What you can check yourself
Check the air filter and its housing. Make sure the intake hose after the sensor is intact and the clamps are tight. You can do the simpler checks yourself.
How we fix it
- We read the sensor on the diagnostic tool and compare it with other sensors
- We check the connector, supply and ground
- We repair the wiring or replace the MAF sensor
