P2465 DPF differential pressure: too high (bank 2)
P2465 means: DPF differential pressure: too high (bank 2). The diesel particulate filter (DPF) traps soot and burns it off from time to time. Drive gently and have the car checked soon. The most common repair costs about €200–400 in Estonia, depending on make and model.
What it means
The diesel particulate filter (DPF) traps soot and burns it off from time to time. The filter is blocked, regeneration fails, or the filter sensor reading is wrong. Bank 2 is the side of a V engine without cylinder 1.
What you may notice
- DPF or engine light on
- Less power or limp mode
- Higher fuel consumption
- Fan running after switch-off
What could be wrong
- 1Lots of short trips so regeneration never finishes · DPF cleaning €200–400
- 2DPF pressure sensor or its hoses · Pressure sensor replacement €90–180
- 3Injectors or EGR making too much soot · Injector replacement €200–400
- 4Filter full of ash (high mileage) · DPF cleaning €200–400
Repair difficulty: Moderate
What you can check yourself
If the DPF light is on, drive steadily on the open road for 20–30 minutes so regeneration can finish. Best left to a workshop. It needs a diagnostic tool and experience.
How we fix it
- We read soot load and the pressure sensor
- We run a forced regeneration with the diagnostic tool
- We fix the cause of excess soot
- We clean or replace the filter
